This podcast is designed to solve a real problem. People over the age of 55 who feel as if their best days are behind them (spoiler alert: they don’t have to be). It’s for people hovering around retirement age, which should be a hopeful, exciting time in their lives, but who are feeling despair and dread. For people who, for the first time in their lives, are experiencing the breakdown of their bodies and minds and need strategies to fight against physical and mental decline. It’s for people who need a way to make the second half of their lives meaningful, fulfilling, and potent.
My name is Grant Sanders. I’m a creative professional on a personal journey to improve physically and mentally every day. And help others make the most of their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. Some topics we will explore on the Walt Disney’s Frozen Head podcast:
- The science of aging and a long life.
- Nutrition.
- How to retire without boredom and decline.
- Male suicide and depression.
- The benefits of exercise and what works for older adults.
- Mindfulness as we age.
- Your second (or third, or fourth) career.
- Recovering from loss and dealing with grief.
- Starting over from zero.
- Late bloomers through history.
- How to make a longer life work for you.
- Living arrangements for older adults.
- Maintaining vibrancy.
- And more.
Walt Disney’s Frozen Head is a production of SAND and is not affiliated with or supported by the Disney Corporation (although we wouldn’t say no to a little corporate underwriting, guys). For those who don’t get the reference, it was rumored for years that Walt Disney had himself — or his head — frozen when he passed away so that when science finally caught up, he would be revived and could, theoretically, expand the boundaries of life and live forever. We do not recommend this approach (which has been debunked several times) and instead advocate expanding life’s boundaries through knowledge, experiences, and personal development.
